Louis Sasso       Photography

My interest in photography is a long-standing one.  While primarily self-taught, I hold a Certificate in Photography (after a year's concentrated study) and have spent many years as a traditional black and white photographer using a large-format camera.  This taught me to be deliberate in my work and to really see the subject I was photographing.  In addition, I have taught photography courses, including darkroom classes in black and white printing.  When I began using a digital camera, I decided to work exclusively in color.

Nearly all of my work is done out-of-doors and I enjoy photographing natural subjects, windows, doors, cemetery statuary, and abstractions in nature and in everyday objects.  I have been fortunate to have photographed in many parts of the United States, which, I hope, adds breadth to my work.
